Brimich Logistics asked Neelands to develop a solution to cool 275,000 sq. ft. of storage space to 15 degrees Celsius year-round for their food-grade product warehouse.

This combined equipment and technology solution allowed Brimich to save over $180,880 each year.

Brimich required 4 Million BTUh of cooling for this product and they operated the cold-storage for 18-hours a day at a cost of $0.10 per kWH for power. Their set point and climate enabled them to run an estimated 50% of the time or less in refrigeration mode, using one or both compressors and operating 50% of the year or more using KoolJet’s Free-Cooling Mode.

This solution allowed Brimich to operate without the use of compressors. Neelands included additional automated controls with proprietary algorithms that enabled the modulation of the free-cooling technology, in order to achieve peak performance.
