Longo’s New Retail Store – December 2019
With the holidays just around the corner, Longo’s has joined Toronto’s Liberty Village with their newly opened store on November 20th, increasing their urban presence in the Greater Toronto Area.
Longo’s has collaborated with Jacked Up Coffee (a local, independent Liberty Village coffee truck, which moved their truck inside the Longo’s location), as well as Cork’s Beer and Wine bar, featuring fine products from Amsterdam Brewing Co.
This eco-friendly location has the refrigeration designed and installed by Neelands. This is the tenth location featuring transcritical CO2 refrigerant, which is not only non-ozone depleting but has the lowest global warming potential in retail refrigeration (typical supermarkets use HFC refrigerant which have a higher global warming potential).
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and a fully-integrated state-of-the-art control system for refrigeration, HVAC and lighting was also provided and installed by Neelands. These systems will provide a comfortable environment for shoppers and employees, while maintaining the highest operating efficiencies.
The 30,000 square foot market offers a fully-staffed deli, meat, bakery and produce department as well as a charcuterie area, pasta bar, sushi, poke and much more. It is also a fantastic location for Longo’s Grocery Gateway Initiative, offering same-day pick up, ordering ahead via the Ritual app, and receiving prepared meals through Uber Eats.
